WHO IS BIG MEDIUM?
Big Medium is an Austin-based non-profit organization dedicated to supporting visual arts and artists in Texas. We’re the people who bring you the East Austin Studio Tour, the Texas Biennial, and now the West Austin Studio Tour. We also exhibit innovative gallery programming throughout the year in the Big Medium Gallery, provide affordable studio space to artists, and partner with various other arts organizations in Texas to help foster the arts in Texas.
VISITING BIG MEDIUM
The Big Medium office is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 – 5pm, but it’s best to give us a heads up if you want to come by just in case we're working on an off-site project.

Q: I would love to help financially support all your programming. How can I do that?
A: Every contribution is meaningful, and we are grateful for support at every level. We truly appreciate your investment in our state’s artistic heart; people like you help our creative community to thrive. Tthere are a few ways to support us. Q: Are you open to proposals for the Gallery?
A: Absolutely! If you have a mesmerizing installation concept you’d like to pitch to us, please send us images and a statement about your work here.
Q: I’m interested in participating in EAST and/or WEST. How do I do that?
A: EAST/WEST are sister tours, with two different open call dates. Typically our EAST application deadline is September 1st, and the WEST application deadline is still moving around. Email here with the subject "ad me to your EAST (or WEST) artist list" and we will!
Q: I'm interested in advertising in the EAST or WEST catalog. How do I do that?
A: Great. We'd love to include you! The catalogs are perfect for local businesses, and we'd really appreciate your support. You can reserve your spot by emailing us here.
Q: Do you have any available studios right now?
A: Any available studios at 5305 Bolm Road can be found here on the Studios/Artists page. We're also have studios at Canopy located at 916 Springdale Road, which has a full building of gorgeous artist studios. You can read more about Canopy here and here. Q: I’d love to volunteer. What opportunities do you have available?
A: We love our volunteers! We have ongoing volunteer opportunities at Big Medium, as well as for EAST, WEST, the Texas Biennial, and more! Volunteering with Big Medium is a great way to support and get plugged in to the art community. Please contact us here to get involved.
