Meghan Shogan
Describe your artistic style in three words.
Magical realism, absurd
What's inspiring you right now?
Conversations with friends about what they would want on their gravestones.
What do you do when you're feeling uninspired?
I usually have small, unfinished "go-to" sculptures I can mindlessly work on to get my hands moving and get to a mental state where I can dream up the next project.
Tell us something unique about your process.
I like to use stone that isn't considered suitable for sculpture. For example: grainy or cracked stone found from the side of the road.
What advice do you have for other artists?
Make what you'd be happy living with for a long time.
