Describe your artistic style in three words.
De la tierra

What's inspiring you right now?
I have been always been intrigued by the human figure

What do you do when you're feeling uninspired?
It depends, sometimes I just keep working, keep digging until something comes out that makes me excited; other times I shift my attention to something I really enjoy doing at the moment and come back with a refreshed perspective.

Tell us something unique about your process.
I feel that clay allows a kind of double reflexion to take place. While working on a piece, the piece is also working on me, working as a way of revealing, making visible, bringing into light.

What advice do you have for other artists?
Keep at it, keep at it, keep at it.

Almuelle, originally from Peru, has established her home in Austin working as a ceramicist. Addressing the functionality of the medium as well as its sculptural expression has been equally important for her. She has participated in shows in galleries, museums and art fairs with both pottery and sculpture.
