Varying in disciplines, four Austin artists and two Texas artists have been selected to participate in the 2023 edition of the LINE Residency.
Provided with a private studio space within the LINE Austin and access to the hotel and its amenities, each artist can experiment and create in a new environment for six weeks. While in residence, the artists are encouraged to share their work and process and become involved with the hotel, its guests, and the local arts community.
Each artist will have open hours as well as host one public event during their time in residence. In a city where art spaces are disappearing, Big Medium sees this as an innovative way to address a critical issue with a similarly committed partner to nurturing the artistic sector.
The LINE Residency is an artist-in-residence program produced by Big Medium in partnership with the LINE Austin. Artists selected for the residency program will have access to a private studio space within the LINE Austin, located in the heart of downtown Austin overlooking Lady Bird Lake. In a city where art spaces are disappearing, Big Medium sees this as an innovative way to address a critical issue with a partner that is similarly committed to nurturing the art community. The residency program is a six-week opportunity for local artists to experiment and create in a new environment.
