Describe your artistic style in three words.
nostalgic techno pictures
What's inspiring you right now?
A ton of unearthed pictures that are either taken by my great-grandmother or are of my great-grandmother. And Mariners Baseball.
What do you do when you're feeling uninspired?
I go for a walk, create a programming puzzle to solve, experiment on old chunks of code with new parameters.
Tell us something unique about your process.
I write a lot of code, but I'm really bad at it. Most of my process consists of making mistakes, trying to figure out why they happen, and then exploding them and making the code do something totally different than I expected.
What advice do you have for other artists?
Have fun, follow your gut, and just keep making work!
I am a composer and artist based in Austin, TX. I make interactive sound sculptures, digital images, and music compositions that navigate the boundaries between the natural order of things, the illogic of human behavior, and both recent and historical technological advances. Currently, I'm a Co-Director of Tetractys New Music.
